This course is focused on Trigger Point Therapy and myofascial pain from the basis of Janet Travell, leading pioneer in the advancement of trigger point therapy in chronic pain and injury treatment.

Treatment of myofascial pain in this course will focus on the application of pressure, stretching, and deeper understanding of movement and the role it plays in releasing pain and tension from the body. Whether you are working with top

performing athletes, or people who have sedentary jobs, understanding trigger point and myofascial release treatments will help improve pain, and increase mobility for your clients.

Kinesiology, Trigger Point Anatomy and Myofascial Anatomy will be reviewed.

Bodymechanics and proper use of hands and elbows are a strong focus in this class, with a base of knowledge coming from martial arts of Tae Kwon Do, and Aikido. Appropriate use of force and pressure will be carefully discussed in protecting the comfort of the patient and protecting the physical needs of the practitioner.

Therapy will be centered on client communications and creating a dialogue with patients about their comfort, and meeting them where they are in their healing.

Tracking patient outcomes will be reviewed as well as S.O.A.P charting.
