This weekend is fun filled with classic spa treatments that will enhance your cash sales, decrease pain for your medical massage patients, and make you more marketable to spas and salon settings.

All treatments are modified for use in a “dry room” meaning you do not need a shower facility to perform them.

These treatments are rooted in the foundations of clearing lymphatic tissue and improving circulation. These treatments not only detoxify the body from buildup of wastes from exercise but leave the body looking better as well. The French call this Santé et Beauté [Health and Beauty].

Essie worked in the spa industry for many years as an educator, menu designer, consultant and spa director. She has first-hand knowledge of the foundational skills needed for the latest in spa trends, how to market yourself and what to expect working in the spa environment.

Saturday:

Foundations of Lymphatic Drainage

Thai Herbal Ball Treatment

Salt Glow Massage for dry room

This course is focused on Trigger Point Therapy and myofascial pain from the basis of Janet Travell, leading pioneer in the advancement of trigger point therapy in chronic pain and injury treatment.

Treatment of myofascial pain in this course will focus on the application of pressure, stretching, and deeper understanding of movement and the role it plays in releasing pain and tension from the body.

Whether you are working with top performing athletes, or people who have sedentary jobs, understanding trigger point and myofascial release treatments will help improve pain, and increase mobility for your clients.

Kinesiology, Trigger Point Anatomy and Myofascial Anatomy will be reviewed.

Bodymechanics and proper use of hands and elbows are a strong focus in this class, with a base of knowledge coming from martial arts. Appropriate use of force and pressure will be carefully discussed in protecting the comfort of the patient and protecting the physical needs of the practitioner.

Therapy will be centered on client communications and creating a dialogue with patients about their comfort, and meeting them where they are in their healing.

Tracking patient outcomes will be reviewed as well as S.O.A.P charting.
