Massage is in high demand for pregnant patients, yet myths about the safe applications of massage still need to be dispelled, and safer massage practices for circulation and positioning need broader understanding.

This course delves into the problems of stress which negatively affect the growing fetus and the constitution of the person carrying the child and how massage therapy, and wei qi energy massage can help counteract those stresses.
Advanced techniques including acupressure, neuromuscular therapy, lymph drainage and myofascial release are included in massage protocols, and invites the creativity of the therapist.
In addition to hands-on practice and instruction this course addresses awareness of social issues surrounding traditionally underserved populations from a social science lens.
Upon completion the therapist will have built upon knowledge from Pregnancy Massage I courses in draping, positioning, massage and contraindications. The therapist will have a clear understanding of their role in the healthcare team of a pregnant person. The therapist will have a deeper understanding of clinical applications for massage to address specific concerns for the discomforts of pregnancy, and safely deliver medical massage techniques for pregnant people who have experienced soft tissue injury.
